Roelof Steyn was raised in Stellenbosch and matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium. After obtaining his LLB in 2005, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Private Law at the University of Stellenbosch whilst completing a Master of Laws in Family- and Labour Law.

He commenced his articles with the firm in 2007 and was appointed as an associate in the Litigation Department in 2009.

Roelof is an avid sports fan and a keen cricketer – still making guest appearances at a local cricket club. He enjoys a glass of wine with friends, the occasional wine tasting and a good show, movie or concert.
